Join us as our Marketing, Content & Community Lead - building communities, not just campaigns
We’re hiring a hands-on marketer to help grow a high-potential startup by promoting a free product that helps professionals get discovered, grow their businesses, and improve their livelihoods. We’re building technology for the UK’s service industries: barbers, hairdressers, tattoo artists, beauticians, and nail techs. We’re starting with barbers: a creative, visual, highly personal industry where trust, reputation, and community matter.
At our core, we exist to help skilled professionals get discovered and succeed. Our first product is a free directory designed to give individual service providers more visibility - an area they’re underserved by with platforms like Google Maps. This becomes the foundation for a broader ecosystem of tools and services.
Everything we do is guided by one simple principle: act in the best interests of the people we serve. We’re looking for someone: experienced enough to think strategically, but hands-on enough to execute quickly, test ideas, create content, build community, and stay close to the audience. You’ll help us build a trusted brand and engaged community in one niche first, then refine the playbook as we expand into new industries.
The Opportunity
Market a product that is free, genuinely useful and mission-driven
You’ll have ownership from the beginning - not just executing, but shaping direction
Gain hands-on experience across the full marketing stack
Help build a company with the potential for rapid, sustained growth with meaningful equity, so you share in the upside
This role would suit someone who has worked in or around B2C tech, startups, marketplaces, creator platforms, community-led brands, or consumer growth - especially if you’ve helped build a niche audience or community before.
The Role
Your focus will be driving growth through:
[Primarily] Organic social strategy & content creation
[Secondary] SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) & AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation)
You’ll work directly with the founders to define how we attract, educate, and convert our audience - then build systems to take it into new industries as we grow.
The Responsibilities
Planning and producing organic social content that resonates deeply with the target community (with a strong focus on short-form, native content)
Testing and iterating across channels to determine the most effective ways to communicate with our audience and drive measurable growth
Building the foundations of a scalable content system, to later be repeated across other neighbouring industries
Aiding in the development of our SEO strategy (technical, on-page, content)
Aiding in the development of our AEO presence, so we become a default answer in emerging AI/search platforms
How We Work
We’re bootstrapped and lean. We’re not trying to be everywhere - we’re trying to win our specific niches deeply.
Scrappiness beats perfection
Speed matters
Ownership is real
We experiment quickly, double down on what works, and cut what doesn’t.
We are a results driven company and thus do not follow strict hours. This role suits someone who is self-directed, focused, and motivated by solving problems.
Remote day-to-day, with regular meetups/ long format filming sessions in Central London or Sydenham, depending on convenience.
Who You Are
A marketer ready for real ownership
Experienced in directing organic social strategy and hands-on content creation
Motivated, organised, and comfortable making decisions under ambiguity
Excited by the idea of startups and building from scratch
Experience in SEO is a plus
Curious about AEO and the future of search
Keen to learn about using AI tools to scale workflows and output
Compensation
£30k salary + meaningful equity
